“Design is something you feel. Spaces you live in should evoke a sense of well-being and reflect your personality, while serving your daily needs.”

The Queen Bee, as she likes to be called, earned her B.S. in Interior Design from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993. As a Professional Member of ASID (American Society of Interior Design), an NCIDQ Certificate holder, and a Texas Registered Interior Designer, she has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in the field of architectural interiors over her ~25 years in the field. She served as the publisher/editor of the Austin-San Antonio Design Guide from 2003 to 2008, and now she’s the fearless leader of the boutique residential interior design firm, Refined Interiors.

Outside of creating amazing spaces, Jennifer is married with two great kids and the keeper of a myriad of pets. She balances her work life with daily meditation, yoga, and gardening and plays an active role on her neighborhood committees. She’s passionate about creating spaces that offer more than just beauty. Her current favorite design trends include croc and shagreen textures, and the colors teal and metallic gold. She would love to one day meet a client who dislikes recliners as much as she does.

Whitney came to Refined Interiors after traveling and blogging her way through Central and South America and the southern U.S. Prior to her stint as world traveler, Whitney was senior designer at a notable Austin event company where she honed the skills that make her our Assistant Designer. With never a dull moment in event planning, Whitney juggled client pitches, budgets, and logistics to bring creative visions to life and transform empty venues into eye-catching spaces. It’s this balancing act of organization and imagination that Whitney brings to Refined Interiors as she jumps into any and everything thrown her way.

A graduate of Texas State University with a B.A. in Communication Studies, Whitney loves a good pun and daily doses of sarcasm. She loves watching Bond Movies and reading Harry Potter, but her favorite pastime is dreaming up plans for a flannel-bedecked adventure van.
